This is the main control center of NuMorse
that is always open when the program is running. From this screen
you can select what should be played as code and how fast it plays.
Depending on what features you select, other windows will open. A
selection of some of these windows is shown in the screenshots below. |
 |
The NuMorse keyboard window is shown here.
In addition to playing Morse code from text files, the included code
lessons and other sources, you can play Morse code from the keyboard.
Either press keyboard keys or mouse-click on the screen display shown
here. |

NuMorse can grade your typing and give
you live feedback and progress reports as you practise receiving code.
The program uses a smart grading algorithm to ensure that you get
similar scores to those awarded by a human tutor or tester. Also shown
here is a feature that allows you to connect your PC to a rig or other
external device. |
 |
NuMorse allows you to specify exactly what characters should be
sent using the character filter feature shown here. Alternatively,
you can let NuMorse select characters for you based on your previous
typing performance.
The partially hidden window at lower left is displaying some statistics
based on previous typing.

Fancy learning to read semaphore, or the marine flags code ? Alternatively,
resize the character flash card to full screen. Great for teaching
a Morse code class. Students can see the letter while hearing the
code play.
Want to upgrade your amateur radio license ? NuMorse can send realistic
radio traffic as Morse code. It will also set written tests just
like the real thing. The window at bottom right shows a typical
"over" as it is being sent by NuMorse. The cursor marks
the character currently being sent.
